Laurence Smith's
Conversion

I like pictures.  Lots and lots of them.  And I think many Vanagon fanatics like myself like pictures as well to assist with the learning process.

The goal of this web site is to help others learn of my experience converting a 87 VW Vanagon with a 2.1 wasserleaker to a Subaru 2.2 engine.

I have hundreds of pictures of my conversion as it progressed from a KEP delivery to the final thing.

As you progress through each section you can click on any photo to get a larger and clearer image.  I have tried to annotate each picture properly but its been over a year since I did some parts of it and I may have missed some info.

This conversion was done January - March 2003 using all KEP parts and methodologies.

As of May 2004 I am working on my second conversion and I'll post lots of pictures when they are ready.
