Muffler Support

KEP instructions call for a fabricated muffler mount that attaches to the right hand head of the Subaru EJ22 engine. Not many people have access to welders and fabrication facilities, but we do. These mounts are not rocket science but a real pain in the backside to manufacture in small quantities. The assembly has to be be quite accurate so they fit tight.

The muffler mount attaches to the right head and to the exhaust manifold studs at the bottom. The majority of the vertical load is taken on the top of the head - using the spare mounting hole on top. The exhaust manifold studs provide the lateral support and really do not see much vertical load..

	The vertical leg on the support is left with no holes and extra long to accept your preferred muffler bracket.
	The support bracket is designed to be used with the standard KEP exhaust header on a 2WD vehicle (not sure whether the header for a Syncro is different).
	Each bracket is fabricated and fit on one of our engines to ensure tight fit - so there is minimum vertical load on the exhaust header studs.
